Currently a correspondent on "The Daily Show with Trevor Noah," Roy Wood Jr. has been described by the Hollywood Reporter as "a standout," and Entertainment Weekly referred to his brand of thought provoking comedy as "charismatic crankiness." Prior to The Daily Show, Roy spent three years on the TBS sitcom, "Sullivan and Son," and still appears as a regular guest. He’s currently a featured comedian on Conan, ESPN’s "SportsNation" and Comedy Central's "@Midnight." Wood's first Comedy Central Stand-Up Special, "Roy Wood Jr., Father Figure," aired in February 2017.

Roy Wood Jr. is a correspondent on Comedy Central’s The Daily Show with Trevor Noah. In 2017, Wood premiered his first one hour standup special, 'Father Figure,' on Comedy Central and a live album of the same name. In the same year he was named the new host for Season 4 of Comedy Central’s storytelling series, 'This is Not Happening.'
Entertainment Weekly described the thought-provoking comedy of Roy Wood Jr. as 'Charismatic Crankiness.' His comedy has entertained millions across stage, television and radio. Prior to The Daily Show, Wood starred for three seasons season on TBS’ Sullivan & Son, Wood, a native of Birmingham, Alabama, began his comedy career in 1999 at the age of 19 while attending Florida A&M University. In October 2006, Wood made his network television debut on The Late Show with David Letterman.
In 2008, Wood appeared on HBO’s historic Def Comedy Jam. In 2010, he was selected by America as one of the top three finalists on Last Comic Standing on NBC. Wood has made appearances on The Late Show with David Letterman, The Late, Late Show with Craig Ferguson, TBS’ Conan, The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, Late Night with Seth Meyers, and The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.
Wood appeared at the Montreal Just for Laughs Comedy Festival in the New Faces Showcase, an appearance that lead the Hollywood Reporter to call Roy a "standout". He is also known for his prank calls which he's done for over a decade on various radio morning shows including the nationally syndicated Bob and Tom Show. In addition he has been a regular contributor to ESPN’s Sports Nation. His first full comedy CD 'Things I Think, I Think' was released in 2013.
